Zepha the Monster Squid is the seventh book in the overall saga. Zepha is a gargantuan cephalopod Beast whose dark magic allows him to control the deepest parts of the sea, using crushing tentacles and blinding ink attacks. Following the previous aquatic Beasts, Zepha represents an even greater challenge, as the quest plunges Tom into the dark, hydrostatic pressure of the abyss. Tom must use a magical vehicle or special gear to withstand the depth and fight the massive squid in an environment where Zepha has total domain, emphasizing the difficulty of fighting a multi-limbed, powerful foe in the crushing darkness.
