Larnak the Swarming Menace is a later installment in the massive series, coming from Series 22, The Shade of Death. Larnak is a terrifying Beast whose dark magic involves the ability to rapidly clone itself or command overwhelming numbers of smaller, identical copies. The "Swarming Menace" suggests the main challenge is dealing with a foe that can multiply, making it impossible to defeat through conventional means. Tom must find the true Larnak or the source of the cloning magic before he is entirely overwhelmed by the endless swarm of enemies.
