The Horse and His Boy is the fifth published (third chronologically) book in C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia. The story is set entirely within Narnia's world and its southern neighbor, the Calormene Empire. It follows the journey of a young boy named Shasta and the talking Narnian horse, Bree, as they escape from Calormen to find freedom in Narnia. Along the way, they uncover a plot to invade Narnia and must race to warn King Lune. The book is a tale of self-discovery, identity, and the meaning of freedom.
