Truckers is the first novel in Terry Pratchett's beloved The Nome Trilogy. The story introduces the Nomes, a race of tiny, four-inch-tall beings who believe their world is the huge human department store, Arnold Bros (est. 1905), where they live beneath the floorboards. The protagonist, Masklin, is a Nome from the Outside who brings the shocking news that the Store is scheduled to be torn down. Masklin and his Nomes must convince the sheltered Store Nomes of the impending disaster and organize a mass exodus to save their people, using a massive, forgotten truck as their means of escape. The book blends Pratchett’s signature humor with a poignant tale of discovery, change, and faith, exploring what happens when people are forced to confront the true scope of their world.
