War of Jenkins' Ear is a historical non-fiction book or a military history account. The War of Jenkins' Ear (1739–1748) was a real conflict between Great Britain and Spain, named for the bizarre and infamous casus belli: the alleged mutilation of a British captain, Robert Jenkins, whose severed ear was supposedly presented to Parliament. The book would detail the origins of the conflict, which primarily stemmed from trade disputes and Spanish attempts to restrict British access to Caribbean markets. The narrative covers the major naval engagements and sieges in the Americas, detailing a unique and often forgotten war that eventually became part of the larger War of the Austrian Succession.
