Prince Caspian is the second published novel (fourth in chronological order) in C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia. The story begins as the four Pevensie children—Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy—are unexpectedly pulled back to Narnia, a land they ruled centuries ago. They find that Narnian time has passed by hundreds of years, and their kingdom is now occupied and oppressed by the Telmarines, a race of men who have driven the magical creatures of Old Narnia into hiding. They answer the call of Prince Caspian, the rightful heir to the Telmarine throne, who is desperately trying to save Old Narnia from his wicked, usurping uncle, King Miraz. The Pevensies, with the help of the faithful mouse Reepicheep and, eventually, the great lion Aslan, must lead a rebellion to restore Narnia's former glory, fighting a monumental battle against tyranny and disbelief to bring magic back to the land.
