Jack and Annie travel back to ancient China, to the reign of the first emperor, known as the Dragon King, around 200 B.C. The Emperor is notorious for his power and his systematic destruction of all books that do not align with his rule. The siblings’ mission is to find a rare, hidden book from the Imperial Library before it can be burned. Their search takes them across vast distances, including along the massive, imposing structure of the Great Wall of China. They eventually enter the Emperor’s tomb, where they must navigate traps and the terrifying, silent presence of his immense terracotta army. They must solve a series of ancient riddles and overcome their fear to find the book and complete their difficult, daring task while learning about the history and power of imperial China.
