This story is a direct sequel to The Tale of Peter Rabbit and features Benjamin Bunny, Peter Rabbit's cousin. Benjamin and Peter sneak back into Mr. McGregor's garden to retrieve the clothes Peter lost during his previous escape and to stage a celebratory picnic. The adventure, however, is not without peril, as they encounter a large cat and are almost trapped by Mr. McGregor. The story is a delightful caper that is slightly less tense than the original, but is full of Beatrix Potter’s beautiful illustrations and gentle humor. The tale features the humorous, timely intervention of Benjamin’s father, who rescues the youngsters and punishes them for their disobedience.
